I’ve been having a bit of a blue period over the winter. Here is my latest effort – my version of The Three Graces. I also quite fancy a fresh spring green version to portray the figures more as woodland nymphs but that could be just because it is April – am I really getting tied to the seasons with my colour choices? Last summer I was all for oranges. This is definitely a new development if so. Originally I only printed in rubine red or black with the odd exception in a dark blue and the choice was led by the image and not the season. No, I think I am still led by the image – I tried my Three Graces in a sunshiny light orange last year at the back end of summer and it just didn’t work. It was so bad that I nearly scrapped the block. Having found the right colour I am in love with it again and can’t wait to get a print framed and hung on my wall!
